Rangers Home Opener

Hey Y'all!

This is for my good friend Helene.  She's wonderful. And awesome. And absolutely ridiculous.  I think the latter is my favorite part about her. Seeing as I've known her for about 2.5 years, I can tell you that her blog is absolutely spot on with who she is.  Friendly, Random, and beyond hilarious. It's a great read, I laugh every day.  I'll participate more in her Travel Tuesdays link up (since traveling is my absolute favorite!) when I find time to recap my favorite adventures... in the meantime...

Helene in Between

As promised - a recap of my superfun Friday.

I love baseball.  It's probably my favorite sport to watch - live anyways.  That atmosphere is something else.  The smells, the people, and the baseball players in their little baseball pants!

So, sure enough, I got up at the break of freaking dawn. Granted it was a half hour later than I would normally be at work, but it's all for the cause, right? Good thing it was in the forties and I was wearing shorts. After being called numerous names (like crazy, and absolutely out of my mind),  we were on our merry way!

Hellooooooo Baseball!

(Yes, that is the sun still rising...)
Enjoying our day off

We weren't the only ones
We were prepared.
But still managed to forget a flipper for the burgers on the grill, and put the grill plate on upside down.  Plastic forks work surprisingly well! (I think, I wasn't in charge of the grilling!)

Having some fun in my sunglasses.  Maybe a little to much fun..

We had to stop on the way into the game and buy Mumford and Sons tickets.
We may have created a traffic jam trying to get the full wifi signal...

We weren't the only ones at the game, apparently
Enjoyin' the show

The BEST thing about the ballpark - Garlic Fries!!

Opening Day #2 (We have this exact same picture from last year)

The whole group!

It was a long exhausting day, and I fell asleep, no joke, 30 seconds after I got home.  Forgot to let the dog out and everything (She was not happy).  But, was so much fun, wouldn't change it for anything.  It's ok to be jealous. I would be.

Actually, the only regret I have is that my hair is out of control.  According to these pictures, I need a cut and color baaaaaaaad.

Karaoke Staples

Hey Ya'll!

I'm feeling very inspired as of late.  Inspired in the sense that, I will forget all of my awesome and amazing ideas by tomorrow.  It was a good run.

Onto tonight. This post was entirely inspired by the Thought Catalog.  It's my very favorite time wasting site.  I'm able to read 20-some age group inspired posts.  They are fairly relatable, while sometimes, not so much.  Wading through the nonsensical posts, and immature lists, I came across one, that caught my attention, in the current state of mind I'm in.

I made 2 New Years Resolutions this year.  Generally, I find resolutions absolutely improbable, therefore, I absolutely make 1 beyond ridiculous but in my mind, reasonable, resolution.  The responsible resolution I made - was to run a 5k this year.  Now, whether I actually do it, or not, doesn't matter in the least to me.  If I do? Awesome.  I think it's a decent goal to work toward, but, am I going to behead myself and gouge my eyeballs if I don't? Not so much.  Maybe another time. (Sorry for the visual, I had to really paint a picture for you!) :)

My second resolution was to figure out exactly what Billy Joel is saying in "We Didn't Start the Fire" and sing it at a Karaoke bar (from memory!) by the end of the year.  This is one resolution, I very much intend to keep.  I'd like to be able to incorporate something interesting on my resume that sets me apart? Right? No? Blonde hair, don't care. I was pretty jazzed to make this resolution.

So, I'm incorporating both parts of this post.  My list of the Top 10 Songs I will absolutely sing with you at Karaoke (dependent on the number of G&T's consumed prior to the task).

1. Journey - Don't Stop Believin' (I know everybody does it, sorry I'm not sorry - you can sing along).

2. Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer (Again, don't care.  Also, I will change the lyrics)

3. Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back to Me Now (To my girls - this is for you) (Also, this is filled an over dramatic interpretive dance, get used to it)

4.Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girls  (Don't worry, it's guaranteed I'll change brown to blue)

5. Garth Brooks - Thunder Rolls  (Well, anything Garth Brooks - I'm looking at you Friends in Low Places)

6. Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart (You know you do too)

7. Bonnie Raitt - Something to Talk About (Shout out to my Eball!)

8. Eminem ft Rihanna - Love the Way You Lie (Because I'm multi-talented and sing both parts of the duet)

9. Katy Perry ft Timbaland - If We Ever Meet Again (for this, I'll need a duet partner - for the effect, of course) (excuse my dance moves) (sorry I'm not sorry)

10. Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There (Actually, please sub ANY Spice Girls Song)

Obvious Bonus: Billy Joel - We Didn't Start The Fire

I wanted to put at least 15 on here, however, due to time constraints (totally listened to all of these - and danced) I had to stop somewhere.  I have a pretty general rule, that, as long as I can scream the lyrics, I'll include it in my playlist.  Nothing that takes too much skill...

Have your own dance party! Any you'd add on?

Short, Sweet.

I know I've been MIA for awhile.  I'm well aware.  Can I blame it on my job?

Yes, for those of you who didn't know, I am recently employed (FINALLY!) with a wonderful company, planning events.  It may not be weddings, but to be frank, I've never really had any desire to plan wedding events, until after I'm married of course!  It would make me cynical (moreso than I already am), and too analytical about something that I've always dreamed of for myself!  I can't wait to plan my own wedding, and don't want to be "soooo over" Gerber Daisies, or nauseous at the sight lace and ribbons by the time that day comes!

Anyways, I love what I'm doing, and loooooove my new company - it's the most fun I've had working in a long time! I really can't get enough, even though it takes a lot out of me!  I'm finally working with guests, helping them plan their events, and (hopefully) making everybody happy and having fun with their events!! :)

That being said, very little time is being left for my blog.  I still have tons of ideas, and find wonderful things all over the internet by amazing and fabulous bloggers.  It's just being able to formulate focused thoughts on the ideas that seems to be my problem!

I found this wonderful picture, and just felt the need to share it with the world because I'm in love.  Don't get me wrong, I love Gerber Daisies.  They will always be the flower the melts my heart! however, these roses are just skyrocketing on my list of favorite, straight from no where! Probably helps that they are pink...
