Egg-static for Easter

Hey Ya'll,

(That title took longer than I'd like to say to come up with - I'm fresh out, guys)

I'm a little kid at heart.  The kind of person who skips down the street for absolutely no reason, than the freeing feeling.  The kind of person who bakes chocolate chip cookies, but ends up making half the batch, because I've gotten too excited and licked the spoons, mixer blades (sorry mom!), and bowl. The kind of girl who can't keep a straight face, and mutters under her breath "...that's what she said".  (Yes, I'm aware the joke is old, overdone, and terrible.) ( I also don't care!)

I also enjoy celebrating holidays, as most kids do.  It brings me back to my carefree childhood times.

So, yes, I carved pumpkins for Halloween.

And, yes, I did do Christmas big.

So, what holiday is next?

Yes, I'm aware that Easter isn't "technically" about cute little bunnies, colorful eggs, hunting for said eggs, and peeps.  However, I am not a super religious person, so, to me, this is how I like to celebrate. To each their own, right?

To make a long story longer, Martha - I love you.  I'm going to dye eggs this year if it kills me.

Any suggestions to what I can do with these chicken droppings after Easter? I can only eat so many hard-boiled eggs. Serious guys, too many eggs can kill (It's probably on Wikipedia).

Love, AJ

Sparkly New Years, Indeed!

Guys, I just found the coolest tackiest thing ever.  I'm in love.  I must find a way to incorporate this into my new place.  Because, let's face it, the world always needs more sparkle, shine, glitter, and sequins!

Although it's always overrated, chaotic and a mess, I love New Years Eve for 1 reason, and  1 reason only -  SPARKLES.  It's the best night of the year to sparkle browse.  I could people watch all night! I for one, will be rockin' this little number (2nd year in a row!). It has a super interesting back deep cowl neck, so it's definitely a fun one to wear!

Be safe out there, kids! Seriously, make smart choices, and most certainly - indulge yourself (responsibly)! HAPPY (SPARKLY) NEW YEAR!

Holiday Ridiculousness

Hello!

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!! I had a lovely long weekend.  It was my first Thanksgiving away from home, without my mom's home cooking (yeah right!).   But luckily, I have a pretty sweet boyfriend and a pretty rockin' Dallas family - so it helped to spend the holiday with them.  I got a lot of rest, and much-needed relaxation (and braved   the Black Friday crowds!).  Why?  BECAUSE IT'S FINALLY THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR.

IT'S CHRISTMASTIME!!

Oh, did you not know? I'm completely obsessed with Christmas. The lights, snow, love, and spirit.  It just electrifies me and restores my faith in humanity - year after year.  Christmas never fails me, and it swallows me whole.  And yes, if you're wondering, I am that really obnoxious girl who listens to Christmas Carols, and watches those horribly cheesy Christmas movies.  And I am not sorry about it one bit.  I've been listening and watching since July, it's about time the rest of the US catches up! :)

My roommate and I put up our decorations yesterday. But I am always itching to find new things to put up!  Any fun ideas ya'll do? The cheesier, the better!

Pom Pom Love

I've explained before about my enormous love for all things pom poms.  I just wanted to reiterate...I love them. I do. I love them and can't get enough of them! They are by far the easiest DIY decoration you can do to spice up any area, room, space, hallway, I don't care!

I don't even know where to begin with pom poms and events.  To me, it just makes an event look tasteful.  Tasteful and put together. Pom poms look difficult and that the utmost care and diligence was given when creating the works of art - but let's be honest, they take two seconds and add so much!

My latest obsession with pom poms is to put it together with different artistic mediums. Use twine and some Styrofoam and create a giant ball to mix it up and give the creation some different textures, sizes, and color. Pair it with some paper lanterns (because let's face it, between paper lanterns and pom poms - who can really choose which is best?) This helps create more of a 3d feel to any party, any room, and just makes things come to life! (Well, not literally).

Don't you agree??

Do-It-Yourself Stationary!

Hello all!

This is a fun find I found on another one of my favorite wedding web sites. Ruffled is a great web site for all things vintage.  As many of you know, I am a girl that was brought up in the wrong decade.  I love all things '5os, '60s, and '70s.  Clothing, Lifestyle, Music, and of course, dancing.  I'm probably the only 24-year-old that I know with 30% oldies music on my ipod.  I can't help myself sway to the beat whenever an oldies song comes on the radio (yes, I will find the only radio station that plays it in any city I find myself in!).

If you didn't know any of that, well, you've learned something new.

Anyways, Ruffled had their readers send in ideas for projects and other things related to weddings, vintage weddings, and vintage-ness. My favorite idea was the DIY Marbled Table Numbers.  I figured you can also apply this to stationary, or any other things you want marbled in colors.  Of course, with me, the more color the better, which is probably why I'm obsessed with the way these table numbers turned out! Seems like a relatively easy process, albeit, probably for something with a final number of products in mind!

Anyways, help yourself! Feel free to love away!

Mission Statements

Quotes are great, for motivation, inspiration, and to use as a mantra.  I've always loved quotes and seek out quotes almost daily for these specific reasons! Sometimes they help you find guidance, purpose, positivity and even empathy.

Quotes can even keep things interesting at a party.  You can print them off in different fonts, forms, colors and frame them.  It's a great conversation topic, and hopefully can keep the mood light and fun.   You can bounce off ideas of the hidden meanings, or the topic at hand!

They're also a great decoration idea for a home.  For a family.  You can even come up with your own, much like these I found on the wonderful blog - Love, Actually. (Like the awesome movie!) This can provide a sense of camaraderie for your family as each is different from the next!

Bust out your inner writer/artist - and have a go! Whatever is most important in your life.  What you strive for, strive to be.  Announce it to the world! :)

Dance like nobody's watching
Sing like nobody's listening
Live like it's heaven on earth
