Halloween

In honor of Halloween - I thought I'd share my favorite part of Halloween growing up.  Not so much Event Planning...but gives you that fun, happy feeling.

This is from one of my absolutely FAVORITE web sites is guaranteed to make you smile...1000 Amazing Things.  It'll always make you smile and get the warm fuzzies!

Intense Post-Holiday Candy Trades.

You came, you dressed up,you conquered.
Now you’re walking around with bloodshot eyes and a gumball headache as you pack Princess costumes into boxes, peel decorations off the door, and get ready for the important business of sorting through your loot.
Now it’s time to focus. FOCUS. Work through that Halloween hangover and steady your nerves because it’s time to strike some big deals. Maybe a candy currency system even emerges amongst all your siblings and friends:
Large size chocolate bar: 20 points
Loot bag full of assorted treats: +/- 15 points depending on size of bag
Fun size chips or Doritos:10 points
Popcorn ball: 6 points
Reese Peanut Butter Cup:5 points (especially valuable if special Halloween version)
All other mini candy bars: 4 points
Little pack of fuzzy peaches or sour gummies: 4 points
Cake items such as Twinkies: 3 points
Two-pack of rock hard gum: 2 points
Licorice: 2 points
Caramels from a big well-known caramel company: 2 points
Lollipops: 2 points (Note: Possible points premium for large sizes or rare rainbow-colored lollipops.)
Lollipops with chewy stuff in the middle:Either 1 point or -2 points depending on whether you have braces
Caramels in clear plastic wrap that are overly sticky and have no name on it and taste like burnt sugar: 1 point
Tootsie Rolls: 1 point
Lemon flavoured anything: 0 points.
Pen from guy who sells real estate: 0 points
Anything healthy including raisins or apples: 0 points
Weird chewy generic halloween candy: -1 point.
So pour out your pillowcase and get ready for some high stakes deals on the basement floor. Don’t forget to keep your personal favorites a secret or you’ll pay a fool’s ransom. (If you sacrifice three bags of chips for a Twinkie, you’ve been had.) Lastly, know who you’re up against  — does anyone have nut allergies or unhealthy addictions to lime flavoring?
Bottom line: Get in there and get deal-making. Get in there and get teeth-breaking. Get in there and get
AWESOME!

Life. Love. Candid Moments

The following pictures are the reason I love event planning.  I love the staged proper photos because I love tradition and it's always wonderful to have beautiful, nice photos of you and your loved ones.

But by far my favorite moments come from catching something wonderful - unplanned and full of raw emotion.  Candid.  Candid pictures help capture the happiness, insanity, and love between everybody.

Love.

Short, Sweet.

I know I've been MIA for awhile.  I'm well aware.  Can I blame it on my job?

Yes, for those of you who didn't know, I am recently employed (FINALLY!) with a wonderful company, planning events.  It may not be weddings, but to be frank, I've never really had any desire to plan wedding events, until after I'm married of course!  It would make me cynical (moreso than I already am), and too analytical about something that I've always dreamed of for myself!  I can't wait to plan my own wedding, and don't want to be "soooo over" Gerber Daisies, or nauseous at the sight lace and ribbons by the time that day comes!

Anyways, I love what I'm doing, and loooooove my new company - it's the most fun I've had working in a long time! I really can't get enough, even though it takes a lot out of me!  I'm finally working with guests, helping them plan their events, and (hopefully) making everybody happy and having fun with their events!! :)

That being said, very little time is being left for my blog.  I still have tons of ideas, and find wonderful things all over the internet by amazing and fabulous bloggers.  It's just being able to formulate focused thoughts on the ideas that seems to be my problem!

I found this wonderful picture, and just felt the need to share it with the world because I'm in love.  Don't get me wrong, I love Gerber Daisies.  They will always be the flower the melts my heart! however, these roses are just skyrocketing on my list of favorite, straight from no where! Probably helps that they are pink...

New Fall Colors!

Hello Hello!

As you know, I like to stray a little bit from traditional colors and mix things up!

When we think of autumn, we think of three colors: Red, Orange, and Yellow.  My thought is, "Why?" Who says that we need to stick to those colors just to have a Fall theme?

I found this inspiration board on Snippet and Ink, and loved their ideas that fall can be other colors - with maybe a traditional Fall color slipped in there.  The lighter blue with golds and browns takes Fall up a notch.  It can make your event look more classy, and more elegant with that pop of color - and let's face it, who doesn't want to appear more classy than they sometimes are!? :) The blue also eases the transition from Fall to Winter colors - so sneaky!
