Color Done Right!

There is such thing as too much color - sometimes it's overdone.  Believe me, I'm generally the first one to cross that "too much going on" rule.  But this wedding as found on the blog, Love and Lavender, is the perfect way to go crazy with bold bright colors for a wedding.  They used enough colors in all of the accessories and details of the wedding that gave it a big punch of personality!

Definitely got the wheels turning... :)

Pale is the New Perfection.

All my life, I've wanted to be a bronzed beauty, basking in the sunshine, going surfing (hey, it's a dream alright?).  However, my genes prevented all aspects of that.  Instead, I sit here as a strawberry-blonde, pale, freckly person.

Whelp, you can't have it all I guess.

I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never be able to sit for hours in the sun without turning a shade of red that doesn't even exist in a Crayola  - 64 pack. But I've never been really accepting of this fact.  Until now.

This photo shoot is simply gorgeous with a capital G.  It has a little bit of everything I love, pale colors, braided hair, and over-sized teacups.  Ha, caught you there, right?  It's very Alice in Wonderland and very accepting of all things pale.  Maybe it's the lighting, and the camera, and yadda yadda yadda.  But it has me convinced that paleness might just be...ok.

Do-It-Yourself Stationary!

Hello all!

This is a fun find I found on another one of my favorite wedding web sites. Ruffled is a great web site for all things vintage.  As many of you know, I am a girl that was brought up in the wrong decade.  I love all things '5os, '60s, and '70s.  Clothing, Lifestyle, Music, and of course, dancing.  I'm probably the only 24-year-old that I know with 30% oldies music on my ipod.  I can't help myself sway to the beat whenever an oldies song comes on the radio (yes, I will find the only radio station that plays it in any city I find myself in!).

If you didn't know any of that, well, you've learned something new.

Anyways, Ruffled had their readers send in ideas for projects and other things related to weddings, vintage weddings, and vintage-ness. My favorite idea was the DIY Marbled Table Numbers.  I figured you can also apply this to stationary, or any other things you want marbled in colors.  Of course, with me, the more color the better, which is probably why I'm obsessed with the way these table numbers turned out! Seems like a relatively easy process, albeit, probably for something with a final number of products in mind!

Anyways, help yourself! Feel free to love away!

My Favorite Book

One of my absolute favorite books (Not Harry Potter...Sorry!) "The Great Gatsby" is becoming a movie.  Now those who know me, know that I almost always hate the movie version of a book.  (Yes, that still means the HP movies, but although I dislike them because they aren't as good as the book, I'll still see the movies because it's cool to see it in "real life") However, I'm optimistic about the movie version of "The Great Gatsby".  Mostly because the director is going to be the wonderous Baz Luhrmann.

Baz Lurhmann is the technical genius behind movies such as "Moulin Rouge" and "Romeo+Juliet".  I have high expectation and can't wait to see the castings!

In an Event Planning Sense - who wouldn't want an event completely themed out in a "Great Gatsby" theme? I know I would!!!!
